Counseling/Therapy
Individual Counseling
A confidential, collaborative approach with the client and therapist meeting one-on-one to address client’s mental health concerns.
I work with teenagers 14+ and adults of all ages on a range of issues including: general health and wellness, depression, anxiety, trauma disorders, and grief and loss. I see my approach to treatment as equally compassionate and practical, with a focus on addressing guilt and shame, reducing stress, increasing distress tolerance, generating motivation, and increasing self-efficacy, worth, and confidence.

Couples/Family Counseling
A systemic approach that focuses on addressing negative interaction cycles within family and/or romantic relationships.
As a fellow spouse and parent, I recognize the value of healthy relationships and seek to help couples and families navigate difficult life choices, rifts in their relationships, and negative interaction cycles by reducing conflict and improving communication skills.

Scheduling and Billing
Clients can choose to pay out of pocket or use any insurance benefits they may have. I am credentialed with most major insurers and also provide EAP services to clients whose employers offer this.
Fees vary depending on clients’ insurance coverage. Your insurer can answer questions about your coverage and go over any copays, deductibles, etc. My billing rep will verify your coverage prior to our first session and is available by phone and email to answer billing questions. I use an online platform for all of my scheduling. Clients can create a profile with their insurance info and submit appointment requests. For clients with financial need, please contact me directly for information about a sliding scale.
I offer both in person (T, W, Th) and virtual (M and Fri) therapy sessions at my Wormleysburg office during daytime and some evening hours.
Additional Services
Become ALIVE

Become ALIVE is a resilience curriculum and supplement to individual and group counseling that utilizes a five-step framework, ALIVE, to aid teenage and young adult clients (ages 14+) in exploring their strength and growth areas and in developing their own guiding philosophy for life. ALIVE stands for Awareness, Living Skills, Identity, Vigilance, and Empathy, areas participants will explore in an effort to become agents of change in their own lives – to Become fully ALIVE.
Clinical Supervision

As a counselor/educator from a family of counselors/educators, I maintain a strong commitment to the field of psychology and to the development of competent, ethical counselors. As a clinical supervisor, I hope to be a valuable partner to emerging professionals as they pursue licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
My rate for clinical supervision is $40 per hour. Discount for clinical supervision group sessions when groups are available.
Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive way of enhancing the brain’s natural self-regulation and adaptability. Regular brain training works to promote a confident, flexible, and resilient mindset and has shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and general stress. It can also encourage increased concentration, focus, and decision-making.
Therapy clients who would like to explore how neurofeedback can help them can receive a risk-free consultation and introductory session courtesy of Joshua Bowman Counseling and ABC Brain Training. Please fill out the contact form for more details.
